COVID-19 Update

What are People saying about DDA?

"Jerry, Hey thanks for teaching Nicole not just the right way to merge onto the highway, but what to do when things get tricky. Yeah, I would have never thought to teach her that technique, but now I know what you meant when you said driving program vs. defensive driving program...

and by making her a
right-of-way expert, her decision-making and confidence are so much better.   You guys were great!!  I'll be sure to tell everyone about DDA"

Behind-the-Wheel FAQs

Important Information about COVID-19
to all DDA Students, Customers,
their Families & our Community.

On March 5th, 2020, DDA sent an email to all DDA staff about taking precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for COVID-19. As of 8pm on March 19, 2020, DDA will comply with the Governor's order and cease operating.

The safety and well being of all of our students, employees, their families, and our Community is our primary concern at DDA. Because of the Governor's order for all Non "Life-Sustaining" businesses to close, DDA will cease operating until further notice. Once the Governor allows businesses to resume operations, DDA will still continue to make sure our students and cars are safe. Before and after each driving lesson, our DDA cars, door handles and all controls will continue to be thoroughly wiped down and disinfected. Additionally, DDA Instructors will continue using hand sanitizer before and after every lesson, and every student will be given the opportunity to use hand sanitizer before and after each lesson as well. Furthermore, unlike most new and existing vehicles on the road, DDA cars will continue to be equipped with more expensive HEPA cabin air filters, which capture mold, bacteria and viruses.

CANCELLATION FEES will be waived until further notice for all students and families who have been forced to cancel their lessons and/or license tests due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

REFUNDS: Due to the mandatory shut down by the Governor, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control have caused DDA to be unable to issue refunds for lessons or license tests that have already been purchased. We apologize for this inconvenience, but will swiftly reschedule as soon as the Governor feels it is safe for businesses to restart.

DMVs CLOSED: The State has mandated all DMVs to close until further notice. On March 19, 2020, Third Party Test Centers have been required to close as well. We will swiftly reschedule all license testing as soon as the Governor feels it is safe for businesses to restart.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER DDA is here to help, and we look forward to everyone getting through these difficult and trying times soon. We at the Defensive Driving Academy will continue to carefully monitor information daily, and will contact our customers and employees as soon as we are given the okay by the Governor to begin safely operating again. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, trust and patience.

Stay well, be safe and wash your hands often,
~Your Friends at DDA
